Prerequisite: Age 7 to 13 and ability to swim 50 yards
An adventure camp focusing on the “how” and “why” of sailing.
New sailors will learn to sail, and returning sailors will advance their skills while exploring the forces at work in and around your boat in a camp filled with hands-on learning and fun activities from boat building to navigation and sailing adventures. Sailing offers a myriad of opportunities to balance learning and fun in a dynamic way with campers building confidence and self-esteem while having fun enjoying the outdoors.
The science curriculum for the camp is based on US Sailing’s Reach Program – teaching science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) through sailing. Each activity seeks to unlock the STEM we experience on and around boats, and the information ties directly to the Next Generation Science Standards.
Each student should bring warm layered clothes, a change of clothes, a towel, hat and a snack each day.
Class size: Min 6- Max 24 students.
