ACE After School Sailing - Students Grades 2-6
Location:  Marina Park

Prerequisite: No prior sailing prior experience needed. Students must be able to swim 50 yards. Students must be attending 2nd through 6th grade. 

New and returning sailors in grades 2-6 will learn and improve basic sailing skills in a class focused on skill development, safety and fun. 
Each class will start with a short dockside chalk talk to teach new skills and review the plan for the day followed by hands-on learning with students working in small teams to rig and sail our 14’ Quest dinghies.  While exploring Newport Harbor students will learn to steer the boat, trim the sails, learn about wind and weather, right-of-way rules, seamanship, and safety.  We recommend students bring clothing appropriate for the season, a jacket, a change of clothes, a towel, hat, sunscreen, and a snack each day. 

IMPORTANT
Students attending Newport Elementary will be picked up at the School by Marina Park/OCC Sailing Staff.
Students attending other schools must  provide their own transportation to Marina Park and be dropped off at Marina Park by 1:05 pm
All students must be picked up from Marina Park at 4:05 pm
