This course is one of four modules required for the Basic Training (STCW) certificate. The class may also be taken as an individual class.
The Basic Fire Fighting module cover fire prevention and response. Offered by Orange Coast College with live-fire at Military Sealift Command or Maritime Institute, San Diego.
This course satisfies the Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting training requirements of Section A-VI/1 and Table A-VI/1-2 of the STCW Code and 46 CFR 11.302(e) and 46 CFR 12.602(e).
Prerequisite: Students must be physically fit, know how to swim, and be prepared to demonstrate skills.
