A great class for all mariners who wish to obtain a US Coast Guard Endorsement as a Radar Observer Unlimited, and a required certification for officers on radar equipped vessels. The objective of this course is to train candidates in the proper setup and use of RADAR for risk assessment, navigation and collision avoidance. Fundamentals of radar theory and equipment, rules of the road, and radar navigation are covered. Utilizing Navi-Trainer Professional 5000, or NTPRO. Simulator candidates will operate their own vessel and Radar with landmasses, environmental effects and target vessel returns.
Successful completion of this course will qualify candidates for an Unlimited Radar Endorsement to their license. This endorsement is valid for five years from date of issue.
