MP Youth Sailing & Paddling Camp (Ages 9-16)

Campers will learn to sail in small teams on 14’ RS Quest dinghies, supervised and guided by instructors. Campers will also kayak or paddleboard together for fun in Newport Harbor.  Students will learn about the marine environment, basic sailing skills, water safety, and knots – all while developing confidence on the water as we explore the bay. When not on the water, campers will enjoy a game and craft-inspired curriculum. Bring layered clothing appropriate for the season, a change of clothes, a towel, hat, sunscreen, water, and a snack each day.  Students will be grouped by age to provide the best learning experience.
Next class:  Repeat to build your confidence on the water or move on to the Youth Summer Sailing Camp to work on your sailing skills.

• Requirements: Age 9-16 and able to swim 50 yards.  No boating experience necessary.
