US POWERBOATING Safe Powerboat Handling Certification - Part 2

US Powerboating Accelerated Safe Powerboat Handling w/ CA Boater Card - Part 2

Prerequisite - Successful completion of Part 1 or possession of a California Boater Card. Ability to swim 50 yards. Students must be 14 years of age or older.

A hands-on, on-the-water class using OCC’s 13’-17’ Whalers. You will learn how to perform safety checks, boat preparation, docking, securing a boat, use of spring lines, maneuvering at low and high speed, boat control in confined waters, navigation, towing, anchoring, person-in-water rescue, knots and more.

Successful completion of Part 1 (live online) followed by Part 2 (in-person) and a passing grade on the written exams, is required to qualify for the US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certification and the California Boater Card.  Part 2 may also be taken by students who already have a California Boater Card.
