Prerequisite: Open to children 6 – 13 years old participating with an adult at least 18 years old. All students must be able to swim 50 yards.
Create lasting memories while learning to sail together! This fun, family-friendly class offers parents and children the chance to unplug, enjoy the outdoors, and share the adventure of sailing. Working as a team, you and your child will rig and sail a boat on the calm waters of Newport Bay.
Along the way, you’ll learn how a sailboat works, practice basic sailing terminology, identify the parts of the boat, and master a few essential knots. Designed for beginners, this class emphasizes teamwork, skill-building, and fun on the water.
Note: Children must attend with a parent or guardian.
What to bring: Layered clothing appropriate for the season, a change of clothes, a towel, hat and a snack each day.
