Introduction to Sailing – First Sail

Prerequisite: No prior experience needed. Participants must be 14 years of age or older on the first day of class, and able to swim 50 yards.

Learning how to sail is easier than you might think, and First Sail is the perfect class for you to discover just how fun, safe, accessible, and affordable sailing is. Your on-board instructor will guide you through safe sailing on Newport Harbor while you learn about the main parts of a sailboat, which way the wind is blowing, how to trim the sails, how to leave and return to the dock and of course how to steer the boat.
