Personal Survival Techniques (ORANCC-363)

This course is one of four modules required for the Basic Training (STCW) certificate.  The class may also be taken as an individual class.

This course satisfies the Personal Survival Techniques training and competency requirements of STCW Code Section A-VI/1 and 46 CFR 11.302(a)(1) and 46 CFR 12.602(a)(1).
Upon completion the trainee will be familiar with:
  • Principles of survival at Sea
  • Abandoning ship and survival
  • Types of lifesaving appliances carried on ships
  • Personal lifesaving equipment
  • Survival crafts and survival crafts equipment
  • Helicopter safety
