Join us for a week-long camp designed for children eager to learn how to sail, as well as for those seeking to gain more experience on the water. Campers will collaborate as a team to rig and sail the 14’ RS Quest Dinghy, all while exploring essential sailing concepts. Throughout the week, campers will learn about the marine environment, parts of the boat and key terminology, points of sail and how to determine wind direction, steering techniques using the tiller, knot tying, water safety and fundamental seamanship skills. Our knowledgeable instructors will guide campers in developing safe sailing practices and building confidence on the water. This camp offers the perfect blend of education, teamwork, and adventure—setting the stage for an unforgettable sailing experience!
Bring layered clothing appropriate for the season, a change of clothes, a towel, hat, sunscreen, water, and a snack each day.
Next class: Repeat to build your sailing skills. 3-weeks of camp experience required to move on to the Intermediate Sailing Camp to learn how to sail independently in the one-person 8’ Sabot dinghy.
