SAFE POWERBOAT HANDLING PART 1 – LIVE ONLINE
Prerequisite: No prior experience needed. Participants must be 14 years of age or older.
Part 1 of our two-part blended learning course combining classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience for boaters of all skill levels who wants to improve both knowledge and skill. This in-depth class covers essential boating and seamanship information from types of boats, boating laws, safety equipment, safe boating, navigation, emergency procedures and more. Follow up with Safe Powerboat Handling Part 2, Introduction to Twin-Screw Powerboats, or any other on-the-water class.
Class size: Min 12 – Max 24 students
Text: US Powerboating Start Powerboating Right, and test study questions.
Class Fee: $55
Materials Fee: $40- includes US Powerboating Start Powerboating Right and test study questions.
Material fees are not refundable after class materials have been distributed.
NOTE: Successful completion of Part 1 (live online) followed by Part 2 (in-person) and a passing grade on the written exams, is required to qualify for the US Powerboating Safe Powerboat Handling Certification and the California Boater Card. Part 2 may also be taken by students who already have a California Boater Card.
