Our sailing programs offer exciting opportunities for both youth and families to learn and enjoy the art of sailing while exploring Newport Harbor and local waterways. Whether you’re a child discovering sailing for the first time or a family looking for a fun outdoor activity together, these programs are designed to build skills, confidence, and a love for the marine environment.
Youth Sailing (Ages 7–14)
Youth sailing classes provide a unique environment focused on safety, skill development, and fun. While learning to sail small boats, students will also gain valuable life skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and an introduction to science and technology. Certified instructors guide students through safe sailing practices while helping them build confidence and self-esteem. These programs give young sailors the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, make new friends, and experience the magic of being on the water.
Family Sailing (Children Ages 6–13 with an Adult)
Families can share the joy of sailing together in classes designed for both children and adults. Sailing a 14’ sailboat, you will learn basic sailing skills under the guidance of an experienced instructor. These sessions are a fun and engaging way for families to spend time outdoors, enjoy nature, and explore the marine environment together.
Prerequisite: Children ages 6–13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (18+). All participants must be able to swim 50 yards.
